A HUGE thank you and shoutout to our growing number of surgeons who are choosing to think outside the circle. This case involved two plane homolateral dislocation fractures. Details, below:
“This was a gentleman who fell while canoeing in a river and sustained a complete Homolateral and dorsally displaced lisfranc fracture-dislocation. Treatment consisted initially of compression for edema followed by wire distraction of the forefoot, open reduction with internal fixation and bone grafting. opposing olive wires in the forefoot and calcaneus for stabilization. Olive wire reduction was used for the 4th and 5th metatarsals on the cuboid.”
